Want! Car Gadgets from Movies

I am sure everybody has experienced the following: You’re watching a movie when the hero, or villain, pulls out a gadget or do-hickey that looks so awesome or useful you wish you had an entire room filled with the stuff. A lot of those gadgets involve cars. Here are some of the ones that I would gladly install.

1. Flux Capacitor

Is there anyone who wouldn’t want this in their car? Sure you could end up in the past and prevent your own birth, but chances of that are relatively small. I would also prefer to have the upgrade that allows me to use thrash as fuel, saves a lot of money.

Wait a minute, Doc. Ah… Are you telling me that you built a time machine… out of a DeLorean?

2. Hover Conversion

Staying on topic here with the same car and movie. At the end of Back To The Future, 1985 we saw the DeLorean fly away. How cool is that?A flying car? Sign me up! I just hope i won’t collide with a flock of seagulls or a B-52.

Roads? What the hell are you talking about?

3. Submarine Mode

James Bond really had some of the coolest cars with some of the best gadgets. My favorite is his Lotus Esprit wich could drive underwater (The Spy Who Loved Me, 1977). Instead of taking the car out for a spin, why not take it out for a swim?

Always wear you’re Deep Blue Seatbelt! OK, I know that was lame. It will not happen again. (this post)

4. Auto-Repair

Are you tired of having to visit the car mechanic everytime something is wrong with your car? Well no problem with this feature wich is shown in Christine (1983). Every dent, small or large, will repair itself without problems!

5. Ejection Seat

This was probably featured in more than a few movies but I’m thinking about Johnny English (2003). At the end of the movie Rowan Atkinson sends Natalie Imbruglia flying with the press of a button. This feature has a lot of possibilities; it could help you get to safety or it could get rid of an annoying passenger who keeps telling you how to drive. You could remove the seat so you have more room for your bagage. Want to impress your friends? Shoot your seat at an overflying helicopter!

Actually, don’t try that last suggestion.
