Flashback/forward: DeNiro, Brando and Corleone

In 1972 Marlon Brando played Vito Corleone in The Godfather. Two years later Robert DeNiro played the same character only a lot younger in The Godfather Part II. They both did a great job and both got an Oscar for the role.

Recently (today, actually) I started thinking… If they made the godfather today could DeNiro play the older Vito?

OK, I’m not that good at Photoshop

Imagine him with the proper make-up, hair and other stuff like that. I think it would work, not that I want to see it. Who wants to see a remake of The Godfather?

What do you think? Yay or Nay?

And while we are on the subject, who would play a younger Vito to DeNiro’s older?

Ryan Gosling? Tom Hardy? Joseph Gordon-Levitt? Or aren’t they Italian enough?
